From the top of Bascom Hill, Madison looks like an idyllic college town. As our reporting class ventured off of campus to find stories in the community, Madison’s identity became increasingly intricate. We found deep-rooted inequalities, frustrations, underrepresented voices—and hope. We found dozens of change agents and visionaries, some of whom disagreed with each other.
When we set out to explore the topic of justice in Madison for this project, we knew we’d need to cover a variety of perspectives in a variety of ways. The Arc compiles nearly 50 original pieces of content—news, features, photos, video, audio, graphics and maps—to do just that.
